This site should be usable by everyone who needs kitchen information, including people using a keyboard, a screen reader or a magnified display. This page explains what we aim for and how to report a problem.
What accessibility standard does this site aim for?
The site is built to target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at level AA. In practice that means readable body text, sufficient color contrast, a visible keyboard focus, form fields with labels, images with meaningful alternative text and headings that follow a logical order. It also means the site should work at 200% zoom without losing content or function. Work toward full conformance continues. When a page is updated, the accessibility checks are part of the review. The site uses semantic headings, a skip link and form fields with visible labels rather than placeholder text alone. Each of those is a small thing that makes a page usable with a keyboard or a screen reader.
What should you do if you hit a barrier?
Report it by phone or through the contact page, and say which page you were on and what happened. If a form field would not accept your input, say which field. If a page would not zoom or a link did not work with a keyboard, say that too. Each report is reviewed. If you need the information from a page in another format, such as plain text or a larger type version, say so in the report.
What are the known limitations?
Third party tools, such as the form processor, the embedded map and any call tracking script, are run by other companies and may not meet the same standard. PDF documents, when added later, may not be tagged for screen readers. Some older pages may still carry contrast or heading issues until they are reviewed. Automated audits catch some issues and miss others, so reports from visitors matter more than any score. A page that passes a tool can still be hard to use. That is why the report route sits on this page and not in a footer link.
